Banana Squash

Banana squashe’s origins trace back to South America, especially Peru, later introduced into the United States.

Their uniform shape makes them easier to cook via roasting, baking or steaming. Banana squash has a sweet, unassuming flavor, and are known for their size. They can grow up to 2 to 3 feet long, with a diameter of around six inches and a weight of 35 pounds.

They are paired well with pork, apricots and lamb with herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and sage. Some spices that also go well with banana squash are cumin, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and curry powder.
