Hami Melon

Hami melon, also known as Chinese Hami Melon or Snow Melon, is named after Hami, a town in Xinjiang, China.

There are more than 100 varieties of Hami Melon, ranging from white to yellow. Although they originated in China, today they are cultivated around the world. Their ideal climate is hot sunny locations.

Hami melons are eaten directly as a refreshing snack.

In China, Hami Melons are consumed as a source of hydration rather than buying bottled water.

They can also be seasoned with salt or ginger, mixed with lemon or lime juice for a tangy-sweet flavor. It can also be wrapped with cured meats as an appetizer.
